Top 10 Herbs for Attracting Bees

If you are interested in planting a bee-utiful bee-friendly herb patch or simply want to intersperse a garden with bee friendly herbs to attract pollinators, the following ten herbs are sure to set your garden abuzz.

  1. Beebalm (Monarda)
  2. Borage
  3. Chives
  4. Comfrey  (invasive perennial with deep roots so plant with caution)
  5. Dill
  6. Fennel
  7. Hyssop
  8. Lavender
  9. Lemon Balm – beekeepers used to rub lemon balm on new hives to encourage bees to stay
  10.  Mint – some studies show mint may help reduce populations of the varroa mite that has become a big problem for beekeepers; many keepers plant mint around the hives for this purpose ( has very invasive tendencies so plant with caution)
