Noses and Roses…When is the Best Time to Stop and Smell the Roses?

Roses are at their most fragrant on a warm, humid day with no wind.

In warmer garden zones roses are at their nose sniffing peak in the early morning and evening. What a way to bookend your day!

In colder climates roses are most appreciated by noses in the late afternoon.

Roses emit the most perfume just before they have fully opened. Choose a bloom that looks about three quarters open, close your eyes and…ah. Heaven on earth.
